Kokopelli Tattoo Designs

Kokopelli tattoo designs are fast rising in terms of popularity. But not a lot of people know the history behind this design and what it stands for. So to enlighten those who are not in the know, here is a brief history about the origins of this popular design. The Kokopelli design came from petroglyphs that were carved some 3,000 years ago and is supposed to be a symbol for fertility. Of course, fertility can be defined in a number of different ways, but in those times it is most likely to have stood for either an abundance in a farmer’s crops,  the fruition of a person’s dreams and of course a woman’s fertility to bear a child.  Beyond those three, it can still be re-interpreted in countless ways although it is tied together by the meaning behind it which also includes dreams, people and good thoughts.
