Western Michigan Gallery Artists
I saw the most beautiful watercolor paintings for sale at a gallery in Douglas, Michigan today. The Button Gallery represents lots of quality artists but I was especially taken by the watercolorists’ work. Most of the pieces were smaller than 16 x 20 yet very powerful. One artist’s work really caught my eye. She painted landscapes of western Michigan’s coastline in the bright sun. Dunes, the beach, blowing grasses and roaring waves populate her paintings. They remind me of warm summer vacations and happy family times on the coast. I am hoping to purchase a painting for over our cottage fireplace. Won’t my husband be surprised when he sees it next week.
