Donor Egg Program at Barbados
When I discovered that I was infertile, I was devastated. Mike, my husband of seven years, was not as disturbed as me. He was all for adoption, but somehow my heart was not in it. I wanted to carry my own child and give birth as well. That’s when I got online and did some research on my own. I stumbled upon the concept of an IVF holiday at one of those exotic vacation destinations like Thailand or Brazil. I dug a little deeper and found out about the Donor Egg program at the Barbados Fertility Centre in Barbodos. I contacted them, and received a favorable response. Mike was not too keen initially, but after we went over there for a counseling session, he agreed to give it a shot. I am going to start hormonal treatment soon, following which we will start the donor hunt. I am really nervous, but excited as well. I am truly grateful to the Barbados Fertility Centre for giving hope to women like me.
