So you want to know how you can help a struggling alcoholic in your life? Here are some things you can do.
One, do not give the person money, ever. This is indirectly fueling their drinking. Two, do not drink or use drugs with the person, ever. This is giving them permission to indulge themselves.
If you want to know how to help an alcoholic then you should also stop rescuing the person when they get into trouble due to their drinking. If they are in jail then do not bail them out. They need to experience their own consequences if they are ever going to change.
