Industrialized Nations, Alcohol Problems, and the Need For More Education

It has been documented that alcohol abuse and alcoholism are major problems in other industrialized nations besides the United States.  This leads to the following question:  as countries move from an agricultural orientation to one that is more industrialized, is there a special need for educators to teach all of their students more about alcohol information?  That is, due to the increase in alcohol-related problems that seem to emerge as a country becomes more “modern” and more based on industry, shouldn’t the respective educational systems make an extra attempt to teach all students about the destructive and unhealthy outcomes of irresponsible and hazardous drinking?  Given the increasing number of people in these countries who exhibit alcohol problems, the answer to the above question seems to be in the affirmative.
