Protecting Yourself From A Sunburn Protects You From Getting Skin Cancer

Getting a sunburn is one of the fastest ways to increase your changes of developing melanoma or skin cancer later in life.  Every time your allow yourself to get burned, you increase the risk of skin cancer to yourself.  Learning to protect yourself from the sun is very important.  Always wear sunscreen, even when you’re not at the beach or pool, to protect your skin.  Also, when you’re going to be out in the sun for an extended amount of time, wear long sleeves, a hat, and cover as much of your skin as possible. Skin cancer is deadly, but protecting yourself from the sun can protect you from this deadly disease.
