Removing Rust From An Iron Gate
It is unlikely that you will notice any rust forming on iron gates, but if you do it is not a reason to panic. You won´t need a lot of gate hardware. A steel wool brush will take off the rust and you can paint over it. You do need to clean it well and apply a primer and then a top coat of quality enamel paint. As with any other type of fence, you should expect some measure of maintenance so this should not be a huge surprise to you. Although most iron gates are black, you can paint them and have any color of ornamental gate you wish.
