The KEY materials you should look for when buying Antique Pianos
When looking for an antique piano, you should first make sure that it is well-built. A quality antique piano will have a hard-wooded outer shell made of beech or maple. This is essential if you want a good-sounding piano because this allows the sound to stay in the soundboard for a longer amount of time. The next thing you should look for when buying is whether the plates of the piano are made of cast-iron or aluminium. A true antique piano will have a plate made of cast-iron as aluminium plating was not used until the middle of the 20th century. The last thing you should consider when buying an antique piano is if they keys are made of ivory or of plastic. The more decadent pianos will have keys made of ivory, whereas antique pianos of lesser value will have plastic keys.
