The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is much more than a place to view preserved specimens, it is actually a combination museum, botanical garden and zoo. In 2005, the Museum’s faculty created a Center for Sonoran Desert study. The Museum is a wonderful place to visit, housing realistic creations of the Sonoran Desert region, exhibits of more than 300 animal species, and some 1400 types of desert plant life.
