El Hierro - The Forgotten Island
A holiday to wind you down is always on offer at the exotic Canary Island of El Hierro! You will need a week or two and a hire car from El Hierro Airport and the island just seems to do all the rest! El Hierro offers a simple vacation involving the exploration of the most volcanic landscape in the whole of the Canaries. You won’t find an island less developed (not usually a drinking party in sight!) or anywhere more generously endowed with solitude and relaxation. One of the least developed of all the Canary Islands, El Hierro owes this in part to possessing a landscape peppered with over eight hundred volcanoes. In fact, very little does actually go on in El Hierro other than stunning views and sights and generous helpings of peace and quiet. The closest island to Africa, this is the perfect place for touring while avoiding those lively Tenerife crowds.
